Ubald Klug for De Sede, pair of DS-1025 ‘Terrazza’ landscape sofa elements, leather, Switzerland, 1970s. Waterfall shaped sofas in burgundy leather by the Swiss manufacturer De Sede. The design for this sofa was inspired by mountains and especially the Alps. This design resembles a terraced hill with widths and depths that vary in tapering steps. Both playful and opulent; the design of this landscape is simply spectacular. The leather upholstery shows a beautiful patina that adds to its overall character. De Sede once started as a saddler’s workshop in Klingnau, Switzerland. Slowly, the company widened their Scope and committed themselves to transforming the best possible leather into seating furniture.
