Mctepa brooch, Russian Mstera, in black lacquered wood entirely hand-painted with a central scene depicting a duel between two knights with a castle on the back and a frame entirely hand-painted in pure gold, a miniature of the highest artistic level, cared for in the most minute details. The brooch can be dated to the very first decades of the 20th century and there is, on the back, the writing Mstera, the name of this type of Russian brooch, the title of the work and the signature of the artist, unfortunately it is all written in Cyrillic alphabet and therefore not decipherable. The brooch is equipped with an original case from the very early 20th century, made of cellulose pressed on a mold to create all the bas-relief decorations, with bronze or brass closures and a central cameo also in cellulose with an oval frame with a red velvet background.
