This wall clock was named “ZACRIC” by renowned French clock maker, Jaz, and manufactured between 1976 and 1983, with a serial number 4733-30.
This one is an early production, probably made between 1976 and 1980, as it will work with an LR14 battery, and later models will only work with an LR6 battery (smaller size.)
The base is made of white, hard board Isorel HDF (High Density Fiber) with black, plastic edging, and the face (front) has a brushed aluminum surface, with a nicely designed, gold-colored, plastic frame, with a plastic over, mounted on top of it (see photos.)
Clock is in overall good, original and vintage condition for a 45 year old clock, with some light marks, signs age and previous use commensurate with time, on the overall structure (see photos.) Very light scratches on the plastic front cover, a few spots of age on the frame, as well as some faded colors and patina of age and time (see photos.)
The clock and its 3 hands, are fully functional, and the time is accurate. The day (which is in French), and the date, are a little finicky. Sometimes they work just fine on their own, and sometimes they get stuck, or randomly stick (see the two last pictures with different dates), however this does not affect the overall functionality of the clock at all.
There is a black knob at the back to adjust the time. It is possible to manually adjust the day, by turning the A knob on the left, to make the day accurate, but the B button on the back (for the date) is the finicky one. All of the informational instructions are embossed on the clear casing at the back of the clock, in 3 languages (see photos.)
If the date not always being accurate is an issue at all for you as a buyer, please consider looking at another model. However, if you are a collector looking for a functioning clock, and the date not fully functioning not being an issue for you, this model would be a great item to add to your collection, as well as a fantastic piece of décor, as it has now become a rare model to find.
– Makers mark is present (see photos.)
– There is a hook at the back to mount the clock onto a wall if one wishes to do so.
– In order for the clock to work properly, it must be set flush against a wall; whether placed onto a piece of furniture, or hung on a wall.
– Works with LR 14 battery (not included.)
– The day/ date is in French.
All photos taken in both indoor and outdoor natural light, so colors may vary, based upon brightness, reflections, angles and perspective in which they are viewed.
