Pamono Louis XVI Style Marble and Bronze Clock from Mougin, 1889> Clocks

Beautiful Louis XVI clock in white marble, gilt bronze, and pendulum from the Mougin clockmaker’s workshop. This clock features an oblong white marble base with raised edges, adorned on the front with a bronze decoration depicting foliage. It rests on four small chiseled bronze feet forming spinning tops. Two cylindrical white marble columns, adorned with collars at the bottom, are decorated with garlands of flowers and topped with a leafy pine cone. The dial is made of enameled porcelain and painted with garlands of flowers. The pendulum depicts a face surrounded by sunbeams. Above the dial, a beautiful urn adorned with garlands and topped with a bronze pine cone.

Adolphe Mougin, born in 1835, was a clockmaker who founded a factory in Héricourt in 1870. He produced clock movements and received several distinctions. After his death in 1889, his sons took over the company and diversified into electric lighting.
