Pamono Louis XV French Coiffeuse Dressing Table, 1890s> Dressing Tables

This is an antique coiffeuse dressing table. A French, kingwood extending writing table in Louis XV revival taste, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.

Exceptional dressing table with concealed functions and a beautiful appearance
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good antique order
Superb kingwood presents fine grain interest throughout
Graced with rich caramel hues beneath a quality wax polish finish

Three part top presents striking parquetry with a quartered chequer pattern
Central section opens upwards, allowing the side leaves to extend
Reveals a quality dressing mirror situated upon an articulated rest, with fore and aft movement
The plate presents minimal foxing and a bright reflection

Of breakfront form, the distinctive shaped apron hosts a trio of vestigial brass handles
The fourth handle accesses a concealed drawer, in the lower right hand position
Ornate brass lock escutcheon to the centre — untested, key absent
At the bottom edge, a tooled and embossed leather jewellery or correspondence slide

Concealed drawer to the lower right crafted upon an oak drawer box
Useful storage beneath the three piece top ideal for keeping accoutrements
Raised upon four elegant cabriole legs, finished with fine ormolu caps to each toe
Unmarked as such, but closely redolent of Alfred Beurdeley (1847 – 1919)
