Mirra legend:
The king of Cyprus Cinira had a beautiful daughter called Mirra.
Mirra had a little devotion to the goddess Aphrodite and she to punish the princess, meant that she fell madly in love with her father. Myrrh drunk and drugs the father so that he could lie with him for twelve nights in a row.
The twelfth night, the mind of the king cleared and recognized his daughter got angry and chased her to kill her.
Mirra invoked the help of the gods, and in his rescue intervened precisely Aphrodite who recognized that he had subjected it to an excessively severe punishment and to help the young woman, turned her into a tree with a fragrant resin.
After nine months the trunk of the tree opened and the beautiful Adonis came to light from its cavity.
