Pamono Art Deco Thermal Teapot in White Porcelain and Metal Shell from Bauscher Weiden, Germany, Early 1900s> Coffee & Tea Service

Beautiful, elegant white glazed hard-paste porcelain thermos teapot with third-fire firing, covered with a metal shell with hook closure, signed under the base of the teapot with Bauscher Weiden mark, place of production “Bavaria, Germany”, and under the metal shell with “DRP” embossed.
These types of objects are very rare and sought after in the collectors’ market being the first we will say today “thermos” made in earlier times.

Useful information for the evaluation of the object:
From a search on the internet, we understand that teapots similar to ours, of the same manufacture, sincerely much but much less beautiful and younger than ours, dated in the 1950s-60s, are proposed on the most important platforms of online sales of art and antiques from 150 to 300 € each, while the teapots of the 1930s in deco style, like ours, range from 400 to 600 € each.

Information on artist and/or manufacture:
In 1881 the brothers August and Conrad Bauscher began manufacturing porcelain tableware in Weiden with 70 employees. From the beginning they specialized in sturdy, functional and durable products for the hotel and restaurant industry. By 1887, all North German Lloyd ships were fitted with Bauscher porcelain. The factory opened its first branch in New York in 1895, and two more in London and Lucerne in 1900 (today Bauscher Weiden exports half of its total production to more than 120 countries). More than 1,200 employees now produce for such illustrious clients as “Auerbachs Keller” in Leipzig and “Waldorf Astoria” in New York. Bausch accounts for 98 percent of all hotel china imports in the United States.
