This mantel is topped with an overhanging marble top adorned on the front and sides with a large bronze molding festooned with chiseled foliage. Below, we find a large sculpted bronze entablature representing horns of plenty, flowers with foliage, arrows and a torch.
At the bottom, a wide shaft tapering downwards is decorated with a vertical bronze element depicting ribbons, a shell with scrolls and numerous musical instruments. The whole piece rests on an offset base compensated by a wide bronze moulding.
This sheath at support height will undoubtedly be noticed for the beauty of its marble and bronzes. True to its traditional function, it can be used as a saddle for a decorative object, or installed in a hallway as a pocket.
