Nils Johan Thorvald Thorsson (1898–1975) was a Swedish-born Danish ceramic designer and one of the most prolific creators at Royal Copenhagen–Aluminia. He spent over sixty years there, notably as artistic director of Aluminia (from 1928 to 1969) and Royal Copenhagen (from 1949 to 1969). His designs blend nature-inspired, geometric, and abstract motifs, achieving a perfect balance between rigorous technique and expressive aesthetics. The Baca series, with its textured glazes and delicate patterns, remains one of the most sought-after by enthusiasts and collectors.
