Outlet Pamono After Lucie Signoret-Ledieu, Diana’s Nymph, Bronze Sculpture

Beautiful statue in patinated bronze representing Diana, goddess of the hunt, also called Nymph of Diana, after the work of Lucie Signoret-Ledieu. It represents the goddess seated on a trunk holding her bow in one hand and with the other a trumpet-shaped flower that she is waving at a marine monster at her feet. Her quiver is placed against the tree trunk. This print is signed “Mme Signoret Ledieu” on the base. It bears a founder’s stamp AB. The sculpture is placed on a rotating bronze base with a sign giving the title of the work, the name of the artist and the mention “récompensé au salon” (awarded at the salon). Lucie SIGNORET-LEDIEU (1858-1904) was a French artist and student of Jean Gautherin. She exhibited her plaster figures at the Salon from 1878 onwards. She was particularly fond of graceful compositions and her Diana the Huntress was a great success under the name of Nymph of Diana at the Salon des artistes français in 1889 and won a prize.
