This impressive Sèvres-style porcelain urn stands 41 cm tall and is decorated in the celebrated bleu céleste ground first perfected at the Royal Sèvres manufactory for Louis XV in the mid-18th century. The body features finely hand-painted floral garlands, cornflowers, and roses, framed by gilt scrolling acanthus and neoclassical ornament. The crisp turquoise ground is offset by a white reserve, and the gilt detailing is richly executed in the Rococo and Louis XVI Revival style popular in France during the Belle Époque.
