In Marilina Marchica’s search for the «authentic place»
coincides with the mental one; her work originates within a score in which the harmonization between space, volume, shape and texture assumes fundamental importance. A sort of homorhythm with the earth. This connection makes experience dialogue with what is now in an unprecedented form of landscape, scattered with decadent traces belonging to actions, words, through the changing action of matter and chemistry converted into art.
Marchica’s works bear witness to the cyclical relationship between life and death: a continuous becoming whose elements, linked to the void and to an all too tangible absence, remain engraved and indelible like the footprints of the ground that we have trampled and that others after us they will trample, mixing our life with other stories and other events.
