A Rare Thonet No. 3 Bentwood and Cane Rocking Chair. Having the unmistakable Thonet trademark flowing scroll work. We believe this model was first shown in their 1885 catalogue as shown in the photos. The cane back is in good condition with no damage and was most probably a replacement at some stage in the chairs life. The brown leather seat is a later replacement but sits well in the chair. The chair has good colour and wear is consistent with its age and use. A real design classic that is a much rarer and sort after model. Dimensions: 68cm H x 62cm W x 129cm D. Seat height 43cm.
