LATE GEORGIAN RING WITH PINK DIAMOND (Europe, circa 1830)
Wheel of fire! Eight rose-cut diamonds surround the central diamond. Resembling a star or sun, a mound of silver surrounds the central diamond with eight pointed rays extending from the sides.
In the 18th century (and before), one of the most appreciated stone settings was the carved or rubbed setting, perfectly illustrated in this ring.
The cluster ring is adorned with a set of brilliant rose-cut diamonds arranged in the shape of a flower. The center stone measures approx. 0.35 ct and is surrounded by eight petals of 0.10 ct (approx. 1.15 ct in total).
The diamonds have been rolled to increase their brilliance and set in a large antique silver face from the late 19th century. Cane that presents a beautiful floral engraving on both shoulders.
Tested silver over 18k gold. The silver has a beautiful patina. The formation of the flower head in 18 carat gold decorated with beautiful details.
Total weight: 10.9g
