A magnificent set consisting of a carafe and six large goblets, crafted from hand-blown Murano glass. The glass is transparent and red in color, achieved by adding colloidal gold to the glass mixture, then richly gilded with pure gold leaf applied in gouache and with additional bas-relief gold decorations. Finally, it is enriched with a high-relief floral decoration made of biscuit glass. The goblet pedestals are made from a clear glass twist on a circular base with a gold border. The service is unsigned, but it is easily attributed to the artistic glassworks of Murano, made in Venice around the mid-20th century.
